As a photographer, I have always shot either cars or aircraft. I started doing studio shoots a few years ago, and got some amazing advice from professional photographers and models alike. .
I don’t ask for much in life and am looking to work with models and photographers of all levels, however, I do have two criteria that are essential for any shoot I do...
One, a good sense of humour and two, an open mind.
Some of my ideas may seem a little strange, but I always know the image I am trying to create, even if sometimes, I can’t tell you exactly what it is at the start as the idea develops in my head, but if we keep trying, it all tends to work out in the end. ???.
It doesn’t matter whether the shoot I am working on involves fashion, artistic nude, glamour, pin up, street scenes or just a plain old crazy me shoot, I like to use props wherever possible. I believe every image should tell a story, albeit a quirky one sometimes, and I believe there should always be reason for the photographer to be there and even more importantly the model.
As we walk through life we meet people from all backgrounds and social standings, people who have had very different life experiences to us. However, at the end of the day, we were all conceived and will eventually shuffle off our mortal coil, at a time not of our choosing. Life is too short to be judgemental and to have airs and graces; it takes far less effort to be nice to each other. Anger, jealousy and bitterness are paths to self destruction that we are sometimes easily led down. But, if we accept who we are, learn to love ourselves, embrace and accept our differences and share our combined passions, we can create a better world.
Each and every image that we create is unique, even a photograph of the same person in the same pose a second apart will show the same person at a different time in their life... I know! pretty deep, right? ?
So let’s create some beautiful and unique art together, let’s learn from one another and help make this beautiful world of ours, a happier place to live.
