I'm a keen semi professional photographer and over the years I've collected a good selection of stills and video photographic gear. I have a small home studio and other areas of the house are eminently suitable for photography. I also have a large secluded garden which features in quite a few of my portfolio photos.
For many years I specialised in landscapes, architecture and wildlife photography but didn't work much with models, other than family and friends. More recently, I've started to photograph events, weddings and kids on a commercial basis. However, I still think of myself as an enthusiastic amateur when it comes to shooting models, which is why I describe myself as "semi-pro". Since joining this site I've had the pleasure of working with some great models which has really helped me improve and develop my style, but I truly believe there is still a lot to learn.
I studied art many years ago and did a fair bit of figure drawing then, and occasionally did a bit of life modelling myself. So one of my ambitions is to combine my interest in the human form with my passion for photography with a view to doing drawings from some of my photographs.
Although I have studio lighting, I have a strong preference for natural light so would also love to photograph models outdoors in some of the beautiful, secluded woods and countryside around my home or in other outdoor locations. I'm happy to work with models who are starting out, as well as more experienced ones, in the hope that I can continue to develop my skills and maybe along the way help aspiring models to hone theirs.
