I find the female form Challenging, Difficult, Frustrating, and Annoying at times. At the same time the most beautiful creation period! For me, there is nothing more rewarding than walking away from a shoot where everyone enjoyed themselves and the resulting images are those a model would be proud to include in their portfolio. My current focus is on the female form. I’m working with high contrast, silhouette, and glamour and portrait lighting. I think I have a ways to go as I never expected the journey to happen overnight.
Headshots are my favorite and I always try to work them into a shoot. When planning a shoot, you can expect it to be something like First, headshots, then … I also try to accomplish two things within my studio shoots. The first is to capture images meeting the goal or purpose of the shoot. The second is to try something new, different, etc., with the only expectation of learning something for a future shoot. As an example, a recent shoot, when we were finished, we were going to take a couple of pictures next to a motorcycle or two. As it turned out, circumstances didn’t allow that to happen, but the point was to gain insight for an up and coming shoot with a motorcycle as a prop.
