We may have been here before, but I wanted to ask the question: who has made the biggest affect on you as a photographer? I'm hoping to restrict the discussion to photographers and their work rather than other people who may have had an influence.
For me it has been Don McCullin, Man Ray, Annie Leibovitz, Weegee, Tony Murano and Bob Carlos Clarke.
Each is different, but their vision has led me to want to emulate them. I'm too cowardly to have been a war photographer, and having seen and listened to Don McCullin's experiences in Vietnam, I'm amazed he survived. His other, earlier social documentary work is still outstanding.
