Most photographers and models know the benefits that TFP (Time For Print / CD etc) can make to their portfolios.
I too do TFP work, and so far each shoot has been beneficial for various reasons. But a recent social media post has got me thinking.
Model Y agreed to a TFP shoot, and attended. Three months down the line they are now openly moaning about the lack of images from said shoot. None at all. What seems to have driven this model's status, is that the photographer (or someone that is not them) already has the edited images, and has used them on various sites. One site she has not been credited as the model, and could potentially make the copyright holder money through products made with these images.
In my opinion, it is examples like this that tarnish the benefits of a mutually beneficial TFP shoot. I would rather call this example TTP, for 'Take The P***'.
So what makes a TFP beneficial to you, either as a model, or a photographer?
Is there any work that should not be counted as TFP? Again either as a model or photographer.
