Who do you shoot for

This came up in a thread about the theme comp a couple of days ago. And I guess most people will say they shoot for themselves - whatever takes their fancy at the time. But I'm aware that plenty of photographers chase millions of views on sites like Zenfolio. And that others shoot for competitions. And very occasionally photographers here might shoot for clients. Or perhaps we shoot stuff that we think will attract more models to us. Or likes and comments in our portfolios.

So who do you shoot for, most of the time...
