I'm noticing this more and more - where the model appears to be taking on the responsibility of booking the studio for a shoot. In some cases requiring advance payment from the photographer but perhaps not in other cases.
I always book the studio myself - as well as MUA/H if required. But I guess it might be an enterprising response by serious models to all the instances you hear of models no-showing and the photographer allegedly still having to pay for the studio etc. If the model is willing to take on that responsibility (without advance payment) to demonstrate commitment then I guess that's a good thing.
But if I'm going to have to make advance payment I'd far rather be dealing directly with the studio.
Is it a popular 'package' for photographers if the model arranges the studio as well as MUA/H if required?
