Photoshoot between ScotsPhotographer and KeiraLavelle

I have worked with the lovely Innes several times now over a short space of time: we first connected during one of my Scotland tours earlier this year and really hit it off with a wonderful working rapport from that initial shoot. Innes has his own home studio sets literally all kitted out for different types of shooting styles and models are given their own space to change/sort through outfits and do all the styling bits and pieces. It's a wonderful set up he has and literally so close to the station - even so, Innes will still kindly do drops-offs and pick-ups if you're travelling by train (which I normally do when I come up North). He won't let you struggle with the crazily heavy model bags at all! My most recent visit on my latest tour, Innes actually generously put me up for a night as well which was a massive help and I received amazing hospitality from him so I recommend him not only as a lovely photographer to shoot with in the Edinburgh area, but a kind and safe host as well. Someone I certainly look forward to working with again on future tours for sure! :D

Over the series of shoots we’ve had there have been soooo many lovely pictures produced. Innes sometimes has the ability to tether them through to a big screen as you shoot as well so you get to see in full-glory what you are achieving from one set to the next. Innes place is not only well build up with physical studio sets and really cool lighting (which I keep saying I must get some of my own each time I come!) but he also has a stunning extensive wardrobe for model shoots so some days it might be that we didn’t barely touch my stuff at all! From vintage to burlesque – he genuinely has some top quality garments and accessories which reflects on the passion he has for photography. The ideas so often keep flowing mid-shoot, and so much so that we’ve gotten to the end of shoots and thought “oh we didn’t do X never mind, something for next time” because we’ve just found lots of cool bits of inspiration just crop-up mid shoot. Innes is really welcoming of models to be actively involved in idea suggestions too which forms a really wonderful bounce between you as creatives with a common goal. Innes is really awesome at what he does and has a brilliant eye for a subline image but it’s nice that he values the shooting ideas of those he works with too. ?

It has always been a pleasant and fun experience working with Innes. The time always goes quick and there are plenty of laughs to be had mid-shoot. An enjoyable shoot makes your days’ work so much more positive, especially on a tour when the travel side of things can be a bit tiring. But I’ve always been genuinely buzzing at some of the beautiful images we’ve made this year, always been well looked after with refreshments and little breaks in-between shoots and always felt totally comfortable and respected working together. I was also so fortunate to enjoy two wonderful shoots with the most adorable kitty “Kat” who was the best shoot mascot/assistant any photographer could hope for. She was always quite insistent that she got in on the shots too which would fill the room with smiles – honestly the most affectionate bundle of joy ever and she was certainly well loved and happy.
