I live in Inverurie, just outside Aberdeen. I have a young family, and I am currently working on restoring a 1967 classic sports car.
I don't make a living from photography - there is way too much other stuff going on in my life for that. "Taking photographs" for other people with a different artistic view just doesn't float my boat. Instead, I make photographs for simple enjoyment, for relaxation, and maybe to help people appreciate themselves just a wee bit more. Creating beautiful images is my passion. I dream about it all the time, and I want you to be part of it.
During my shoot sessions, and in viewing my images afterwards, I no longer see... "shoulder"... "hand"... "leg": I see the image as a single whole work - kind of like enjoying a garden as a whole, rather than enjoying the individual plants and beds that go to make it up. It's all about balancing the tones and colours, the shapes and the lines - about presenting something that's pleasing to the eye.
I particularly enjoy working with all the incredibly talented figure and dance models there are around just now, sharing a passion with them, trusting them wholly and gaining their trust in me, as a photographer and as a person.
