Film and still photogtraphy have a connection, both are trying to tell a story and convey emotion and that's what I want to do. I've studied it for 30 years and I've been published and exhibited. I think I'm after the truth, I want raw real emotion. Something real, not neccesarily something popular. 2 of my favourite films, Come and see/Barry lyndon were done with only available light and they are stunning to me for their organic nature. I like that.

MCM asks about hourly and daily rates. I've always felt that, if it interests me, it's artistic, but is helping someone out for a portfolio or exhibition, I'll do it for free, just so long as I can bump up my own portfolio as well. We're artists right, solidarity and all that jazz.

I've done lots of commercial stuff. It doesn't particulary interest me, some fat cat's going to make a mint of my work, so I'll generally charge for that.

I'm leaving the hourly/daily rates blank as usually do things on a case by case basis.

I consider myself something of a tortured artist. It might sound pretentious, but it's all I know. I'll muck in with whatever, photographer, director, actor, model, nude model, sandwich maker, nude sandwich maker. It's the process I care about and if I can do one thing that's remembered, then it was all worth it.
