"I only photograph people"
That's obviously an oversimplification, but the vast majority of my interest in photography has been, and still is, people. Expressions fascinate me.
Background
Currently based in El Segundo, California (metropolitan Los Angeles for the non-locals) I've been dabbling in photography since high school, and had a darkroom at home when I was 17. This continued through college, and I worked part-time as a newspaper photographer (events, concerts, and sports, primarily), and did a short stint as a full-time wedding and portrait photographer. Nowadays, I'm an amateur photographer; I much prefer being a hobbyist, as it provides me with much more flexibility in terms of what I can create. I do take on paid assignments from time to time, but only the ones I'm interested in.
I'm interested in a wide variety of people-based imaging, from pinup to fashion, glamour to beauty, alternative to cosplay, and many other genres. Most recently (pre-COVID), I've been focusing on beauty photography, especially avant-garde looks, but I'm interested in a range of areas--pretty much anything to do with photographing people.
Current Projects
As noted, I'm open to many photoshoot ideas and approaches involving people, but a few particular concepts are of particular interest at this time. Please contact me if you're interested in one of these areas.
Warriors: A broadly scoped concept, showing strength and power. Whether it's fantasy barbarian to post-apocalyptic survivor, medieval knight to modern superhero, I'd like to do more work investigating this theme. Contact me if you're interested.
Transformations: I've been working on this one for a while now, exploring how lighting, makeup, styling, expression, and so-on can completely transform an individual: one model, looking very different. Examples of this can be seen on my website.
