I am a Sculptor working from life , modelling in clay and plaster of paris in representational style . My work varies in size from 1/5 Lifesize to twice Lifesize or more. When I work from models I work for three or four hour stretches to develop an idea/sculpture, then, if the inspiration is right, I will develop this further and have somebody modelling for several weeks on a part-time basis sometimes working the whole day . This can develop into either a large life-size sculpture or a pen and ink drawings or might be for a series of small sculptures. There are no particular ways as to how this works. It’s often from the inspiration between the model and myself.I live and work in Oxfordshire.
I have now been practicing my sculpture for well over 45 years. I love what I do. and I am always looking for great models. to make more great figurative sculptures.
