Im tracking a camera thats been advertised online going for a song. Its a Canon 5d mk2 thats being sold for parts as its listed as faulty due to the error 99 message. Ive done a bit of research online about error 99 and it seems that it is Canon's code for unspecified error, but most of the forums ive found it in usually relate it to either a shutter error or a fault with the autofocus that can often be cleared up by carefully taking a clean eraser to the connections. Anybody here had any error 99 stories or experience? If it is a shutter issue, does anyone know a ballpark figure for repairs? Thinking if i can get a 5d for a song it might be worth spending a couple of ton on getting it serviced/repaired.
thanks
