There are occasions when bumping an old thread can be of value. But most of the time it is a mistake. It is also annoying for the reader and embarrassing for the poster. And occasionally such thread resurrections can be downright divisive.
James would it be possible/practical to have a JavaScript pop-up dialogue that warns a poster if he/she is responding to a thread, where the last post is over, say, one month old?
