Just a thread to give vent to my frustration.
I've had 2 late cancellations in 2 days.
I'm counting my blessings though, at least I didn't travel miles and wait for a no show, as has happened in the past!
On Thursday a text at 05.30 seen by me at 08.00 cancelling a shoot timed for 11.00 that day. The model had late cancelled on me before, in 2011, so next to the address and time in my diary I already had 'expect her to cancel' she did!
Today much longer late cancellation, 20.00 last night for 11.00 this morning!
Both cancelled by text, both believable reasons, one accompanying her mother to hospital after a suicide attempt and the other being offered a job interview.
The moral?
Stick to my principle of never ever rebooking models who cancel, no matter what the reason.
Assume all models will cancel and be surprised when I actually get to photograph one.
Stick to photographing buildings, architecture and landscapes.
Spend time decorating the house and working in the garden instead.
