This is a photo to illustrate the process of bodycasting / lifecasting. The moulding material (in this case alginate) has been applied to the model's body (Stage 1). When I took this photograph I had just started the second stage of adding plaster bandages to make a shell to keep the rubbery alginate in shape. The next stage was to remove the alginate mould with its plaster bandage shell and create a plaster of paris cast from it.
