Ian Guffogg The Geeky Snapper

I joined 7-ish years ago, and I had every intention of shooting creative portraiture. As so often happens with life, things happened - my wife Jan became disabled as a result of illness - and I found myself unable to make my goal of shooting creative portraiture a reality. Throughout our time together Jan, knowing that this was something I wanted to do, kept trying to "gently" persuade me that I should still try to do it despite me being her full time caregiver. As is the way of a husband, I ignored her, and I found myself told off a few times because of it! In May of this year (2023) I unexpectedly lost Jan after a short illness and I’ve found that my camera has provided me comfort in this time, giving me something to do, and something to concentrate on. Although admittedly only shooting toys, flowers, and family pets as before. Moving forward my hope is that I can, to borrow from some of Jan’s pep talks, pull my finger outta my a**, and shoot some real life humans.

…Christ! What a long winded way of saying there’s no people because I haven't really shot people yet!
