Lucky Jim

My name is Patrick Snape, I am an artist and musician based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. I studied fine art at Birmingham art college and obtained a B.A. in fine art and then an M.A. in fine art printmaking at Newcastle University. Part of my creative process has involved photography in one form or another. I studied photography using original film, (black and white photography), but in recent years I have been drawn to digital, not least because of the control it offers and the potential to transform images on the computer in programmes like photoshop. I approach photography creatively, prefering to use natural light, interesting and unusual locations, whether nature or urban, and to work with a person, or group of people creatively, encouraging them to become part of the creative process. I have photographed bands and musicians; male and female for CD's and promotion.
