I've been a photographer for as long as I can remember, mainly of wildlife and countryside subjects, but also done freelance press photography and had photographs in country magazines over the years. So why have I joined a model site, not for my devastating good looks certainly :-) Now I'm retired I have more time and am looking to expand my portfolio and have set up a small scale studio for food and product photographs, but unless there are any Borrowers or Lilliputians on here it's too small for people photographs. When I was doing press photography I photographed a lot of people and even got to meet and photograph David Bellamy and Richard Branson, but I stay well clear of weddings, because out of the four I've done, three ended in divorce within a year.
I'm not a great fan of harsh lighting and heavy make up, so what I'm hoping to find someone on here who has the Country Life look, or could do with those sort of pictures in their portfolio on a time for prints or CD basis. Although I've ticked the sorts of photographs which interest me I'm also willing to help anyone who works with me by taking any other shots they specifically want for their portfolio (As long as they don't involve exotic locations :-) I've got a motor home, which is not grand, but has a stove, blown air heating and a lockable toilet for privacy if you need to change outfits on location. If this sounds like you please get in touch.
I hate fixed poses, because they are too restrictive, although the basic rules of composition always apply, whether in the studio, or on location. I prefer location and often get my subjects, by going up to them at events and asking if they will pose for me in return for pictures. The human face is capable of dozens of expressions, but fixed poses tend to give fixed expressions.
