Hi welcome to my Madcow Page.

I am currently a mature student studying photography in Northumbria.

I'm a fairly recent convert to photography having been more involved with painting and sketching in the past. I had a DSLR for a couple of years for taking holiday snaps and to be honest my photos were pretty poor because I had never really bothered to learn anything about photography. I have now been doing "proper" photography for about 3 months and I hope the improvement shows in my work.

I love photographing outdoors and using natural light. I think sunlight has a magical quality that is very difficult to create indoors artificially. That said I do also enjoy working with studio lighting and speed lights so I am not an exclusively natural light photographer. To me a good image is about great light combined with the essence of the subject. Whenever I shoot I try to set aside at least 30 mins (an hour if possible) to get to know the model or subject. I think this is necessary in order to truly capture someone. I also believe in true collaboration and always work to include the model/subject in the creative process.

I'm looking to make connections in the industry and am open to working with models/MUAs and anyone else who wants to collaborate and advance their art as much as I do.
