I like capturing people as they are, with their character and candid expressions. I believe portraits should have feeling and personality - deep and honest... unless you're just taking a picture for a new passport.
I am looking to creatively collaborate with models to make meaningful images of natural human expression. I'm looking for models with character and depth.
The scenarios I'm most interested to work in:
- Indoors, in a home setting, capturing the model using and occupying the spaces and rooms they normally use
- In an urban space
- In a beautiful outdoor environment (nature, suburban)
I want the images to capture a certain kind of intimacy, making the viewer feel a connection with you. This is especially relevant to the indoor / home settings, being achieved by capturing two different impressions: a sense of the you being alone in some images, doing normal things in the house, and then in other images, making the feeling that the you are alone with the viewer, interacting with the camera.
I also have a strong tendency towards equality and encourage creativity on both sides of the camera, with a strong enthusiasm for female empowerment.
I'm completely happy to work with newby newbies, to help build your portfolio. I actually like working with inexperienced models, who are often more raw and have less bad habits Wink
I also now have access to an independent gym for photoshoots, which I have never used before, which could lead to some really cool images.
I have good equipment: professional level DSLR camera, classic film cameras and a Fuji instant camera for fun Smile
