Thanks for checking by my profile, please take the time to read here before asking questions.
I am at the moment a photographer by profession, so the likes of Model Mayhem and other sites are an outlet for stifled creativity the day job lacks which is mainly commercial.
Because of that, I love to experiment and try anything different, am frequently open to suggestion and if someone comes to me with an idea I have not tried, I am usually interested in cooperating on it.
I enjoy discussion!
Discussing the ideas of shoots is half the fun, and I appreciate people who are happy to put such time into it. Swapping sketches, stick men, mood boards, if it’s a big shoot with several people involved having a discussion face to face over coffee.
Some Points Of Interest
I like colour but not gaudy, I like fantasy of all kinds including cosplay, I like back lit images with soft light surrounding the models, I insist on shoots being fun (though my jokes are terrible), I insist on feeding the crew, if I say I am doing a shoot on a certain date that is final, props are welcome and add fun,
Pay
This outlet is for personal work and to network with like-minded creative people. I generally will not be asking to be paid unless the shoot will be of no benefit to me. Models I am happy to pay expenses, where on the odd occasion I need to hire a model I do so at Agency rates.
Types Of Model
Any type, but I ask that you look the same as when you are being booked. In some recent cases had to cancel shoots when hair has been dyed a different colour and new soar tattoos are present. Not helpful when you are aiming for a very specific look.
Travel
I live and work in Girvan, because we have good transport links here, particularly with regular trains, I tend to use this as a centralised base and then drive out to the various locations I intend to use which range from industrial to rural, with certain landmarks. If this is too far to travel, sorry but please don’t waste my time. I am upfront on the matter but still get let down at times.
Bring A Friend
Some I know are against this, I allow it and generally welcome it as they can be quite handy, but if they are a pain I will be letting you know and walking away from the shoot. I frankly do not have time for trouble wasters.
The Future
I am doing more home studio based work at the moment, and looking to learn digital art as its an area I feel I am lacking at the moment. Also looking to do boudoir work over the winter.
Also in the future looking to do small clips of video, I already have a list a mile long of ideas and scripts ready for such, just need the gear to shoot it now!
